Lomas del Jilguero |
The developer is now offering to sell the 62-acre, almost entirely completed development for $1,400,000. On a broad hillside high above the north end of the lake, Lomas del Jilguero has brilliant lake, volcano, and territorial views. It has its own water source, a productive natural spring that also forms a stream that runs down the center of the property. Responsibility and authority over this water source has been assumed by the "asada" or water authority of the village of Rio Piedras. The developer has built internal roads and installed underground electrical water and electricity service and drains. With all that has been accomplished, Lomas del Jilguero, at $1,400,000, give give a smart investor an excellent return with proper marketing. (11/22/2011) |

Many of the 29 lots have good views of the Arenal Volcano. |
This is a development being brought along slowly and with close attention to legal and environmental requirements by an owner who has lived at Lake Arenal for several years. The 29 lots are located high above the northwest end of the lake, giving them not only fine lake and Arenal Volcano views but very wide territorial views to the hills and dormant volcanos north of the lake. Though the infrastructure has already been put in underground and the internal roads prepared, the lots have not yet been priced. They range in size from 2000 square meters to 14,700 square meters, or from 1/2 acre to a little over 3 1/2 acres. The development is reached from the small village of Rio Piedras, which is approximately halfway between Tilaran and Nuevo Arenal. Rio Piedras (Rock River) has a couple of small stores and two cafes. The development is named after a nearby mountain and a stream bordering the development, both named after a bird common in the area, El Jilguero, which in English is Goldfinch. |
